Rize, doğal güzellikleri ve kış sporları potansiyeliyle Türkiye’nin önemli turizm destinasyonlarından biri olma yolunda emin adımlarla ilerliyor. Kentte başlatılan spor turizmi çalışmaları, bölgeyi kış sporlarında ulusal ve uluslararası bir merkez haline getirmeyi hedefliyor.
Rize’ye kazandırılan üç snowtrack aracı ve okullarda kurulan spor kulüpleri, özellikle kayaklı koşu branşının gelişimine önemli katkı sağladı. Türkiye Kayak Federasyonu’nun 2024-2025 sezonu takviminde yer alan Kayaklı Koşu Eleme Yarışması’nda Rize’yi temsil eden sporcular, önemli başarılara imza attı.
Erzurum’da düzenlenen yarışmada Güneysu Kayaklı Koşu Takımı 6 sporcu, Çamlıhemşin Kayak Kulübü ise 45 sporcu ile mücadele etti. Yarışma sonunda Güneysu’dan 5, Çamlıhemşin’den 19 sporcu, birinci etap Kayaklı Koşu Yarışması’na katılma hakkı kazandı.
Spor ve kültürü bir araya getiren yapısıyla kış turizminde bir marka şehir olma yolunda ilerleyen Rize, yapılan yatırımlar ve spor etkinlikleriyle ulusal ve uluslararası arenada daha da öne çıkmayı sürdürecek.
