Rize’de, Gaziler Günü Pazar Meydanı’nda düzenlenen törenle kutlandı. Tören, Atatürk Anıtı'na çelenk sunulmasıyla başladı, ardından saygı duruşu ve İstiklal Marşı’nın okunmasıyla devam etti. Hava Radar Komutanlığında görevli Astsubay Kıdemli Çavuş Şükrü Demir, günün anlam ve önemine dair etkileyici bir konuşma yaptı. Hava İkmal Astsubay Üçüncü Sınıf Cafer Can Özer ise duygusal bir şiir okuyarak katılımcılara anlamlı anlar yaşattı.
Törene katılanlar, gazilere olan saygı ve minnetlerini ifade ederken, ilçe kaymakamı gazilerle yakından ilgilenerek onlarla tek tek sohbet etti. Gaziler Günü, milletin bağımsızlığı ve vatan sevgisi uğruna canlarını feda eden kahramanların anılması için önemli bir fırsat sundu. Tören, sivil toplum kuruluşları, daire amirleri ve çok sayıda vatandaşın katılımıyla sona erdi.
